The Weekly Scoop by Jody Cunningham
When Custom Work Becomes a Lifeline in the Void
When custom work becomes a lifeline in the void there’s a strange thing that happens when you’re standing in the void... that place where everything feels muddled, heavy, and directionless. The place where you’ve poured time, energy, money, and heart into a dream… and yet somehow, you’re still staring at the same walls, the same questions, the same fears.
It’s the breaking point. The quiet rock bottom. The moment when you wonder if you’ve misread every sign the universe ever sent you.
And in that space... that foggy, suffocating in‑between - the only thing that feels solid is the work you create for someone else. Bespoke projects have become my lifeline.
Not because they’re profitable, impressive, or easy, but because they remind me that I still know how to bring something to life.
When everything in my own world feels uncertain, custom work gives me a tether, a place to anchor my creativity when my identity feels like it’s dissolving. There is something profoundly grounding about taking someone else’s idea, their story, their spark… and shaping it into something real.
It’s proof that I’m still capable. Still creative. Still connected to something bigger than the fear. Custom work becomes a mirror, reflecting the parts of me I can’t see clearly right now: the parts that are strong, intuitive, and have the ability to transform emotion into form. And maybe that’s the quiet beauty of bespoke design: It’s not just about creating for others. It’s about remembering yourself in the process.
If you’re in your own void right now... if everything feels heavy and directionless, find the one thing that still feels solid. The one thing you can still create, still hold, still trust.
For me, it’s bespoke work. For you, it might be something else. It's important to have something because in the void, even the smallest anchor can save you.
Until next week... Keep pursuing your dreams and refuse to give up! Where there's a will, there is a way, and if not... create one!
